Country Manager Benelux


The job
As a Country Manager your mission is to deliver a long term, sustainable and competitive advantage for the O’NEILL brand. You build strong professional partnerships with retailer partners and key accounts through annual/seasonal strategic plans in order to achieve financial – and commercial targets.

Focus will be on the four strategic objectives: elevating level of distribution, win in sport style distribution, grow E-com channels, grow in Sports & Surf distribution and by being the brand of choice. You ensure a high performance culture in the local sales teams.

As a Country Manager Benelux you will report into the Commercial Director.

As a Country Manager Benelux you:

  • Create a sales -, distribution - and product strategy for the Benelux, in consultation with HQ to ensure alignment.
  • Make sure that the sales teams and market partners are aware of our key objectives and brand strategy.
  • Ensure a close working relationship with key partners in the market.
  • Deliver the annual and seasonal sales and profit contribution targets in line with the O’Neill Europe targets.
  • Deliver consistent, reliable and regular sales reports.
  • Develop strategic plans containing sales/MPR/distribution that match the brand positioning.
  • Have a clear go-to-market plan per range, by distribution channel in line with company objectives exploring new distribution opportunities in the short-mid and long term
  • Consult in the managing and directing of customers, analyze, plan and execute account business plans.
  • Agree with key account decision makers on strategies (demand side and supply side) to build the mutual business.
  • Develop, apply, and oversee business activities for the country sales team.
  • Lead the integrated sales and marketing process.
  • Conduct seasonal preparation meetings to align seasonal initiatives, seasonal goals, account marketing plans, etc.
  • Align on seasonal account marketing investments with KA to ensure excellent instore execution of seasonal initiatives on a country and macro market level.
  • Manage Brand Corner and Shop in Shop plans and wholesale Visual Merchandising activities.
  • Lead the Benelux teams to achieve country objectives.
  • Develop a culture of personal responsibility, accountability and the capability to deliver a constant high performance in achieving the set goals.

 Who are you?

  • Bachelor degree with 10 years of practical experience of which  minimal 3 years of experience in a comparable job, within the Sports (fashion) market.
  • Good understanding of the industry and customer’s business and excellent communication skills in Dutch & English.
  • Proven sales, analytical, negotiation, financial and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, deliver on timeliness and full delivery of commitments and you take responsibility for developing a culture of personal responsibility and accountability.
  • Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid driver license B. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel, willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
